Kaieteur News- A Kaneville, East Bank Demerara (EBD) man was stabbed to death on Wednesday evening during a misunderstanding with another man of the same community.
Dead is 48-year-old Derick Sylvester Prostea of Back Street, Kaneville, EBD.
Reports are that Prostea was stabbed by a 25-year-old man of Ally Street, Kaneville, EBD at around 18:45h on the Grove Public Road, EBD.
According to a report issued by the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the suspect and Prostea had a misunderstanding which resulted in the suspect stabbing Prostea in his right shoulder.
Prostea collapsed and was taken to the Diamond Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect was arrested in Kaneville and is assisting police with their investigation.
