Dear Editor
With dozens of young men charged and remanded to prison. Many more are likely to face the same fate for their alleged involvement in law-breaking activities following the death of Adriana Young. The United Workers Party is seeking a presidential pardon for those charged and remanded, from His Excellency, the President, on behalf of the above-mentioned categories of names.
The United Workers Party condemns, in the strongest terms, the looting of businesses, the disruption of public transportation services, and the burning and destruction of private and public property in the pursuit of justice.
However, the United Workers Party’s support remains unwavering for peaceful and non-violent protest, even as we seek a presidential pardon for the misguided young men. Justice has eluded the people of Guyana.
The citizens don’t know what justice is in this country, and the UWP demands accountability from the Guyana police force, as serious allegations are still leveled against the police for covering up and for some members participating in the death of young Adriana Younge. The actions of the misguided young people should be pardoned by the president, with a system put in place to reform the aforementioned categories of young men.
Regards
United Workers Party

The President should never pardon those agitators involved in terrorism.
The disruption caused panic by aircrafts to turn around and land in the
nearest country, the US Embassy closed and rescheduling of appointment
for various visas, closing of stores…disrupting businesses, placing security
forces on high alert. Guyana’s Keystone Kops/Police needs overhaul,
head rolling from the top. They played a critical role in the death of Adrianna,
protecting the murderers in that Hotel. They caused the burning down of the
Hotel and critical evidence tampering. 1962-1965 is not so long ago ?
You people want Ali to look like Trump who pardoned his criminals and convicts in the Jan 6 insurrections when he assumed this current term ?
