Kaieteur Sports- Guyana Rainforest Rangers scripted a commanding 52-run win against the Leeward Islands Thunder last night under lights at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy Ground, as the tournament enters its crunch stages.

The Rangers got to 189-5 thanks to a host of scores from the likes of Kevlon Anderson, who led with 52, Ronaldo Alimohamed who finished the game with a 20-ball 40 (3×4 3×6), Kevin Sinclair 39 with three sixes 23 from opener Rivaldo Clarke.

Only Elroy Francis (2-40) and Michael Palmer (2-19), managed to find success with the ball for Leeward Islands, who in return were.

Test opener Mikyle Louis (24), Nathan Edward (28), skipper Karima Gore (13) and Anderson Mahase (24) offered some counter-batting before the Thunder went cold, fizzling out for 137-8 when their overs expired.

Riyad Latiff starred with four wickets

Spinners Riyad Latif (4-25) and Ashmead Nedd (1-18), Sinclair (1-35) alongside seamer Jediah Blades (2-31) got the job done thanks to some exceptional bowling from the Rainforest Rangers.

Meanwhile, Guyana will face Barbados on Tuesday from 14:00h in their next match up.
