Kaieteur News- Dem boys seh politics is like a marriage. Yuh got to agree pon who gon wear de pants, who gon cook, and most important, who gon walk down de aisle fuss.
But de AFC and de PNCR like two lovers who decide dem want a big wedding in 2025—but dem can’t decide who gon wear de ring.
Every time dem sit down to talk, is like bridal war. PNCR seh dem bringing more guests to de wedding, so dem should walk fuss. AFC seh, “Na suh! We de one who get de original invitation to the church when dem form de coalition long time.”
Dem boys seh de thing get so bad, one man even suggest a double bride wedding—two grooms or two brides—jus’ to mek both sides feel equal. But dem church boys seh that gon be confusion in God house.
Now dem fighting over who gon wear de white. But AFC seh PNCR hands na so clean. PNCR seh AFC lose de veil long time—dey done get bald in Parliament.
De caterer done cancel. De band gone back Berbice. De marriage counselor fly out. Even de guests dem start buy ticket to go another wedding—one dem seh look more promising.
Dem boys seh yuh cyah plan a wedding when every meeting turning into a divorce court. Every time dem try join up, dem end up more far apart. Is like trying to tie a shoelace wid one end in Lethem and de other in Mabaruma.
Now dem boys hearing AFC gon look fuh new suitor, and PNCR gon stand up at de altar by heself, hoping de bride show up last minute.
But if both ah dem nah decide soon, de only ting dem gon walk down is memory lane—remembering when de coalition use to wuk, and not this reality show mash-up.
Dem boys seh, if yuh cyan decide who wearing de ring, yuh better don’t plan de honeymoon.
