Kaieteur News- Thirty-six-year-old Kenard Persaud was on Wednesday remanded to prison for an attempt to commit murder charge.
Persaud of Tiger Bay, Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
He was not required to plea to the charge which alleged that on March 6, 2025 on Croal Street, Stabroek Georgetown, he attempted to murder Leon Alexander Barton.
The prosecution stated that the accused, while on video, admitted to chopping the victim causing him to be hospitalised. It was also stated that the victim is on life support.
Magistrate McGusty remanded Persaud and the matter was adjourned to May 7, 2025.
