Driver injured after crashing into light pole on Heroes Highway

Kaieteur News – A man was injured after the vehicle he was driving collided with a light pole along the Heroes Highway, East Bank Demerara (EBD). The incident reportedly occurred between 08:30hrs and 8:55hrs on Tuesday.

Reports indicate that a truck driver was moving at a fast rate and lost control while trying to avoid hitting a line of parked trucks on the road. While swerving to avoid the parked trucks, the truck collided with the vehicle, which was traveling in another lane. As a result, the vehicle was forcefully pushed into a nearby light pole.

According to a video posted on Facebook, the injured man was seen lying on the ground. While details have not emerged on the specific injuries the driver sustained, he appeared to be conscious but clearly in pain.

On the scene, public-spirited citizens and police officers were offering their support. The citizens, along with law enforcement, appeared to be assisting the injured driver, possibly providing first aid or ensuring the safety of the individual until further help arrived.

Meanwhile, the car involved in the accident was badly damaged. The damage was significant, with the entire center of the car folded in, suggesting a severe impact.
