Born in 1921, Mai, despite her age is alert and active and quoted her vegetarian diet as a secret of her health. She shared that Baingan Chokha and Roti with fried Okra are among her favorite dishes.
High Commissioner thanked her for her melodious rendition of a Bhajan, which she sent to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modiji when he had visited Guyana a few months back. Mai continues her daily chores and maintains an active routine, an inspiration for us all. (Source: India in Guyana)
