Kaieteur Sports– In preparation for the upcoming U19 Inter-County Cricket Tournament, the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) will commence their Inter-club U19 Cricket competition today with several matches around the Ancient County.
This competition is dubbed the BCB/Orvin Mangru U19 Contracting Service Cricket Competition.
The teams have been divided into several zones with the top two teams in each zone emerging to the knockout stage.
The BCB has also released rules that clubs are expected to observe.
Players participating in the competition must be born on or after September 1, 2005. The games will be 50 overs in duration and will be played using coloured clothing.
Matches are expected to begin at 09:30hrs and toss is expected to be spun no later than 09:15 hrs. If the captains are not present at the toss, they will forfeit the right to the toss.
Teams are allowed to have at least one non-Berbician in their lineup. Teams winning a game will be awarded 12 points. In cases where the matches have been washed out the teams will be awarded 4 points each.
