Kaieteur News- A 43-year-old man, who reportedly went missing on Sunday night, was found dead in a trench in the vicinity of Bee Hive, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Ramesh Ramkumar’s body was fished out of the trench between 06:00 hrs and 06:30 hrs on Tuesday. During an interview with Kaieteur News, the sister of the deceased man, 32-year-old Savita Ramkumar, said that he went missing on Sunday night around 19:00h.
“My mother called me and tell me that them two was sitting in the living room, and then she went to use the washroom and when she came out back, he was nowhere to be found, they look everywhere and they didn’t find him until this morning (Tuesday),” the sister told this publication.

She mentioned that, according to their mother, when Ramkumar’s body was examined, black and blue marks were noticed all over it. Ramkumar (the sister) related, “My mom said it look like somebody beat him and throw him in the trench because all over his skin was black and blue.” The woman added, “My brother had no kind of problem, he never interfered with anyone, he is a well-known person around there, (Bee Hive, ECD) he is not a troublesome person.” Ramkumar was described as a, kind, loving and caring person. The matter is being investigated by police.
