Kaieteur News- A 22-year-old contractor was on Monday remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer robbery under arms charge.
William Goodasaul of Lot 493 ‘C’ Field Sophia, Georgetown appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore. Goodasaul allegedly used a gun to rob Afen Berkshire of one 12-gauge shotgun valued $250,000 and four 12-inch gauge cartridges valued $100,000, property of Sheriff Security Service.
He also allegedly robbed Yang Jian of $800,000 cash and US$195 equivalent to G$39,000 total value of $839,000.
Both incidents occurred on March 13, 2025 at Lot 12 BPP Lamaha Park, Georgetown.
The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that if the defendant is granted bail, he will continue to commit offenses of a similar nature, since he is no stranger to the law.
Goodasaul is scheduled to return to court on April 28, 2025.
