Taxi driver on $50k bail for stealing cow

Kaieteur News- A 48-year-old taxi driver on Monday appeared at the Charity Magistrates’ Court to answer a charge of cattle larceny.
Dennis Simon called “Wawa” of Lot 62 Reliance Essequibo Coast, is accused of stealing a cow valued $300,000 from Tassamottie Lawrie on November 10, 2024.
He appeared before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke who read the charge to him. Simon pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Simon was granted $ 50,000 bail and is scheduled to return to court on March 17, 2025 for disclosure of statements.
