Kaieteur News- Dem boys seh dem police smart, but some of dem bar patrons even smarter! Y’all know how de police does line up outside dem popular bars and nightclubs on a Saturday night, waiting like hawks fuh somebody who drink one too many. As soon as de patrons stumble out and jump in dem cars, de police does pounce, ready wid de breathalyzer test. Most times, is pay-up time after dat.
But hear dis story. One night, dem police seh dem gon mek a big catch outside a big-name bar. Dem deh waiting like fishermen wid dem nets. Closing time come, and out tumble one man who look like he drink de whole bar. De man could barely stand up straight, much less find he car. He try he key pon about five cars before he finally find de right one.
De man sit down in he car and chill fuh a good ten minutes, while everybody else drive off. He turn on de lights, then off. He move forward lil bit, then stop. He mek it look like he more confused than a lost sheep. When de place empty out, he finally drive off slow, slow, slow.
De police light up dem siren and stop de man, ready fuh de big haul. Dem seh, “Blow in dis.” But guess wah? De man pass de breathalyzer clean, clean! De police eyes wide like saucers. One of dem seh, “This ting must be bruk.”
De man laugh and seh, “Nah man, I ain’t drunk. Tonight, I’s de DD—Designated Decoy.”
