Action between The Jaguars and Pitbulls yesterday at LBI Ground. (All-round Jaguars clinch 3-wicket win over Pitbulls )
Kaieteur Sports- A collective all-round effort from the Essequibo Jaguars helped see them to a good 3-wicket win over Demerara Pitbulls yesterday at LBI Ground.
Batting first the Pitbulls racked up 184-8 after 20 overs Raymond Perez (26), Joshua Persaud (31), Rickey Sargent (30), Ronaldo Jeffery (20) and Floy Joseph (25*) didn’t let the opposition bowlers settle.
Four wickets from spinner Myheim Khan and two wickets from all-rounder Rajiv Ivan were the primary wicket-takers for the Jaguars.
Joemal Lafleur then led with a 31-ball 46 backed by 30 from Zenyul Ramsammy, Ricardo Adams (33) Ivan who struck (29), pushed their team home.
Pacer Clinton Pestano (2-37) and Captain Chris Barnwell (2-22) along with Joseph (2-29), failed to prevent a loss.
Next matchup will see the Demerara Hawks battling the Essequibo Anacondas in Saturday’s next round hosted in Berbice.
