…Js Supermarket/Kabisa One-Day Horse Race Meet

Kaieteur Sport- The Kabisa Stakes Horse race meet was successfully held on Sunday at the Bush Lot United Turf Club, Sea View Park, West Coast Berbice.
The event which was organized by the Js Supermarket and Kabisa saw the Slingerz Racing Stables taking the feature event.
It was time for John Bull with jockey Blake in the stirrups to shine as it bullied its opponents into submission with a gate-to-pole victory. The animal looked in good form as it raced out of the gate and continued to distance itself from the rest of the field. For the win, the animal raced away with the Kabisa Stakes of $1M and a trophy over 6 furlongs. Novo Sol and Stormy Entry picked up the other two placings.
It was also a good day for the Nand Persaud Racing Stable as Beckham James took the Co-feature event. It was the race for horses classified C or F and open to E that did not finish 1st or 2nd in its last two starts and E class non-earners for 2024. Turfites were in for a treat as Beckham James with Jockey Zubair Mahsood in the stirrups putting in a tremendous gallop down the home stretch to squeeze past Spankhurst with Jessica Pride running in third. The 1200M event saw the winner taking home $600,000 and a trophy.
Top Gun with Kissonchand won the event for three-year-old Guyana Bred animals that was also opened to J-Class horses. It took the $500,000 and a trophy ahead of Black Time and Money Time.
The event for H and lower horses saw Red Ruby with Nicholas Patrick winning the $400,000 and trophy over ahead of Forza Baby.
The winner of the two-year-old maiden event was Irish Eyes ahead of Miss Simron, Citation and Sangani Return as it took home $350,000 and a trophy.
Angry Bird was the winner of the race for I-and-lower animals that was also opened to H3 non-earners in their last two starts and H-Class horses from Zelda.
The event for J and K maiden animals that was open to L class and two-year-old Guyana-bred horses was won by Princess Shasha from Enemy Maker, Kiss and Striking Distance.
The final event for L Class horses saw GT Boss, winning with Perfect Storm and Phoenix rounding out the money.
