Some remarks were not suited for the occasion

Kaieteur News – As the curtains came down on the Holy Month and ensuing Eid celebrations, it must be acclaimed the Ramadan Village was no doubt a brilliant, noble and laudable initiative and must be encouraged. All those who ensured its success must be congratulated and commended.
However, it was disappointing, the feature address at the dinner, marking the closing of the Holy Month, was laced with innuendoes not suitable to a solemn, religious occasion. This occasion should have seen the presence of members of the political divide, to give true meaning to oneness and unity as stressed during the address. The inserting of political lines was uncalled for and did not have a place at such an auspicious occasion.
When will we learn to taper remarks to suit the occasion?
