Dev joins the chorus to undermine central role Jagan played in Guyana’s politics

Dear Editor,

Here we go again with Ravi Dev’s nonsense quoting USA officials who over the years, made comments on President Cheddi’s ideological positions -all the while undermining leaders from the third world, even to the extent of assassinating some of them.

Does Ravi Dev understand the devious methods which US officials took part in to kill Patrice Lumumba of the Congo and Salvador Allende of Chile?-he should read the book “The Lumumba Plot-the secret History of the CIA and a Cold War Assassination” by Stuart A. Reid.

Dev joins the likes of Vishnu Bisram and others to undermine the central role of Jagan in Guyana’s politics while hiding his insignificant role in trying to be a Hindu Indian leader of Guyana, which has led him nowhere as his electoral endeavours left him with no support, especially among the Hindu section of Guyana’s population.

Jagan was sincere, honest, humble and totally dedicated to the welfare of the Guyanese people, regardless of race, religion or class and Dev knows that but his mind is a calculating one, bent on bringing Jagan down-all due to his failed political career to seduce Guyanese East Indians to abandon Jagan and the PPP. I remember, in the days in the 1990s when there were talks for a united third force at many meetings where Ravi Dev would commit to specific positions and would change his mind once he left the meeting room and I realized since then that Dev really was a waste of time.

Today, Dev has become a “stage handler” for the present PPP government because of his commitment to what he perceives as E. Indian (and particularly Hindu) domination of the economic political and cultural landscape of our country- President Cheddi was dead set against that principle and his belief in Marxism , which ,in its pure form , as Karl Marx demonstrated , does not allow for Dev’s racial ideology. Yes, Jagan was a Marxist and proud of it -so what ! US officials lied , falsified and connived against Jagan over the years and Dev knows that but he chooses to be ,as always, a distortionist of Guyana’s history.

Editor, the mischief Dev’s intentions allay in quoting USA officials on President Cheddi’s political positions , shows up Ravi Dev’s calculating mind especially when he quotes a statement that intellectually, Janet Jagan was superior to President Cheddi- that was very deliberate and sums up the extent of his hatred of Jagan. Ravi Dev could live 40 lives and still never receive the love and affection that Guyanese (especially E. Indians} still feel for President Cheddi. On Jagan’s death anniversary, Ravi Dev should be ashamed of himself for quoting such lies and nonsense. God bless you Dad, and rest in eternal peace-your name and spirit will never die in the hearts of the Guyanese people despite deformation by castaways like Dev.
