Absurdities of all absurdities! The Mayor not taking blame for the financial state of City Hall, casting blame instead on the previous council (GT December 20).
The mayor was part of the previous council, no less than deputy mayor. To now seek to divorce and point fingers at the doings of the council which may have led to its present, precarious financial position is nothing short of being disingenuous.
Whether he likes it or not, the mayor has to accept and be held accountable and responsible for the financial position of City Hall. To come now and try to wriggle out of a damming situation you were a part of, is tantamount passing the buck and playing the blame game.
How absurd!
Regards,
Shamshun Mohamed
