Do not gloss over injuries or what happened with copter crash
Dear Editor,
Following the fatal helicopter crash it was reported the survivors ‘facing no major injuries’ and ‘they are in good general condition’ (News Room Dec 9).
It was therefore surprising to learn, days later. that one of the survivors, Corporal Jackson, has in fact suffered second degree burns and a broken limb. While these injuries are not life-threatening and he is being treated with ‘dressing, antibiotic and pain relief (SN December 12), it has to be wondered how these injuries were not detected and made known, prior to the revelations in parliament on Monday, December 11?
The perceived glossing over of the state of the survivors, at least one of them, is troubling. It was inconceivable that the survivors would not, did not, receive injuries as a result of the crash.
My best wishes to Corporal Jackson for a full and complete recovery. It is also hoped the other survivor is faring much better.
