Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – I do appreciate both Kaieteur and Stabroek News for being very lenient with Freddie Kissoon in terms of the many castigating pieces they receive on him. They are debunking to him and quite embarrassing. They expose him as a ‘pretender’ with no journalistic etiquette and philosophic position. He leaps from one platform to another and his extremities, quite contradictory, make him out to be quite a ‘rotter.’ Yet both dailies do not vent them.
By the way, I was privy to this information, gleaned from a Bourda Market conversation, that I was fortunate to ‘happen’ upon briefly.
Now, I am hoping that this little piece, now unfolding will get the go-ahead.
Readers, I am most affronted that the ‘Scholar Manqué, Freddie Kissoon, in ‘his’ once ‘worst daily’ the Chronicle, wrote that “Moseley should have been ordered to pay way more than $1M.” Like wow! Hang on!
How about Freddie’s silence when “Guyana’s vice-president had lost his appeal in a court judgment, some “Two years after he was ordered to pay GUY$20 million (BDS$193 400) in a default judgment…?” As we recall, Vice-President Bharrat Jagdeo did lose his latest appeal to evade paying the award to former government minister, Annette Ferguson, whom he had defamed in 2019.”
This matter may end up at the CCJ. But for now, as we know, “… that lawsuit stemmed from statements Jagdeo made in the media in December 2019, about Ferguson’s acquisition of land and construction of her house. Details show that “Ferguson maintained the statements were slanderous, untrue and caused irreparable damage to her character and reputation…. The former minister said in court papers that the statements and publications suggested that she acquired unexplained wealth by dishonest means. Ferguson had called on Jagdeo and the Guyana Times to provide evidence to the court to support their claims. (CMC).”
Silence still by Freddie Kissoon. And I have another one for the readers, a living contradiction. I invite readers to check on “APNU+AFC has done more in 4 years than the PPP in 15 years,” (Apr 06, 2019).
In that high-schoolish piece, Freddie Kissoon went the extra mile, saying “Let me repeat in these columns for the umpteenth time – I am not a supporter of the APNU+AFC Government, but the PPP will never get my support, and I don’t want the PPP to rule my country again.”
At that juncture, he stated that “I want to see a shared governance formula of a number of parties representing different ethnic communities and sectoral interests … as There cannot be national cohesion and societal stability if the PPP and the PNC are not in a power-sharing formation. Having said that, I think the present shape of the PPP is unacceptable to the future of this country.”
He tried to bolster up some evidence, his of course, saying that “I am glad that this cannot be denied … I cannot look into my heart and condemn APNU+AFC’s performance as worse than the 15 years of Jagdeo/Ramotar combination. It was not. In fact, it was better.”
Part of his ‘supposed’ analysis was that “Those who dislike APNU+AFC have to be dishonest to conveniently forget what the PPP did. On every level of policy-making, the PPP ran Guyana as if it was their personal playground. The rule of Guyana from Jagdeo in 2001 to 2015 was the most horrible in the history of the English-speaking Caribbean. How can one easily forget this?
I wonder if Freddie Kissoon will clamour over the following. I think he should. They are more serious that the Moseley peccadillo.
“Let us refresh the minds of those who cannot see further than their nose. A man was given the privilege to have his own private hangar at the Timehri airport. This guy flew in, bypassed customs and airport security, and flew out in exactly the same way he came in … Who facilitated him and who were his beneficiaries during the reign of Jagdeo and Ramotar?”
“Fip Motilall never built a dog pen, much less a major road. Yet he was awarded the contract to build the roadway to Amaila Falls. The guy’s contract was terminated and he went back to his cocoon in “Little Berbice” in New York after pocketing hundreds of millions of Guyana dollars. Who gave him the contract in the first place? Who collected a part of the Guyanese money he left with?”
Let me add the “Guyanese Critic” Multimillion Contract. Freddie BETTER KEEP his mouth shut.
Yours truly,
Gaylord Riley
