Resolution passed in solidarity with Palestine

Dear Editor,

Kaieteur News – Resolution adopted by participants at a solidarity meeting with the people of Palestine held on 19th October 2023 at the Cheddi Jagan Research Centre, Georgetown, Guyana

We demand:

The immediate, rapid, and unimpeded humanitarian access of fuel, food, medicine and water be allowed to enter Gaza;
The immediate reversal of the evacuation order by Israel for the Palestinians to leave Gaza;
That international humanitarian laws be respected and upheld, and for civilians on both sides not to be targeted by military operatives,
An end to hostilities and the killing of thousands of innocent civilians in Northern and Southern Gaza;
That Israel, a heavily armed and militarized state stop the aggression against the civilian population of Palestine;
An end to the occupation and possession of Palestinian lands by Israel;
The establishment of an independent state of Palestine within the borders of pre-June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital;

8.The release of all hostages, as well as Palestinian political prisoners from Israeli prisons and the right to return of all Palestinian refugees to their homeland in accordance with UN resolution 194;

Supports:

I) The call for a comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East in order to bring about the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from all Arab lands occupied since 1967;

11) The call for the dismantling of Israeli settlements in the occupied areas on Palestinian lands;

111) Recognition and respect of the political, civil and human rights of the Arab people of Palestine;

1V) The Palestinian people’s right to self-determination be respected;

Calls: On members of UN to vote in favour of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people when the matter is debated at the upcoming meeting of the UN General Assembly.
