Two dead in accident near Iwokrama
Kaieteur News – A truck driver and a porter died on Monday night after the vehicle toppled while crossing a bridge near the Iwokrama Canopy walkway junction in the Rupununi.

Dead is Orlan King, 29 of Annai, North Rupununi. The porter was unidentified up to press time.
Reports are that the truck was heading to the Rupununi around 20:30hrs on Monday when the accident occurred.
Residents of the area told this publication that the men were trapped in the vehicle after it careened into a nearby creek.
Rescuers managed to retrieve the body of King. Efforts were being made to recover the porter’s body.
