Dear Editor,
I am kindly asking you to please put this letter into tomorrow’s letter column. I want the government of the day to have a serious look at Bath Settlement in Region Five. It seems that the NDC and RDC do not care what is happening at Bath today, or they lack the leadership quality that we need to make Guyana a beautiful place. Or are we going to let it be another fiasco like what happen at the Fort wellington school where the incompetent RDC cannot removed the garbage that was at the school during the last school term.
I want these elected officials to have a look at every street in Bath Settlement and see how many abandoned vehicles are on the roadside for years taken over by bushes creating a good haven for criminals to pounce on unsuspecting villagers who are robbed and beaten at times. Minister Juan Edgehill has spoken about moving these vehicles, but nothing is being done. I cannot understand why our councilors at Bath lack the will to act. We have two tractors at Bath-Woodley Park NDC, why they cannot use one to move these abandoned vehicles off the road that look like a big eyesore? Right in front the Bath Primary school a vehicle has sat there for years. We need some sort of action so that we can make Bath a beautiful place, and a clean and healthy environment. Act now before it’s too lat. We need leadership with a holistic approach who can get things done on a timely manner.
Yours truly,
Annand Persaud
