Dear Editor,
With Guyana’s acclaimed wealth that has propelled it further on the world stage, shouldn’t we join fellow South America nations Argentina and Brazil by becoming a member of the G20 bloc?
Should countries be suspended from the bloc for say invasion of another sovereign country or poor human rights record? There are countries in the bloc with these stained records but they are allowed to remain. Is the joining of the bloc as difficult as joining NATO? Has the time come for countries like Guyana to take a place at the selective club of nations? Or are we to remain forever beholden to them?
