What accountability, what transparency?
Dear Editor,
It is beyond understanding that the lame-brained explanation offered by community officials to residents for a large sum of unaccounted cash as being discovered only when they returned to their hotel room and the commercial bank “had robbed them”. Really! It is being alleged the matter was downplayed and no investigation was undertaken by the authorities (KN August 16).
Now another set of unaccounted for monies matter has taken hold with residents protesting. It has been boasted that measures are in place to avoid financial malfeasance with the national coffers.
With these revelations the echoes of accountability and transparency ring hollow.
