Dear Editor,
There is a supermarket on Water Street, from humble beginnings to a giant complex, which prides itself as the food warehouse, where its cashiers think it is okay not to give this customer in particular, correct change to the dollar after paying the bill.
This has been an ongoing issue each week I shop there and occurred again last Saturday (Aug. 12). The annoying thing is cashiers do not explain the short change and this customer always has to make a fuss, as it is perceived I am expected to accept this, which reflects poor customer service and relations.
I counter this as I do not short change when making payment for my purchases. Further, it is the responsibility of cashiers to have change and to give customers their correct change to the dollar amount. I would hate to think this is the instructions this renowned supermarket issue to its cashiers. It is my right to get my correct change and I expect it.
I look forward to an improvement in this regard thus enhancing my shopping experience on my next visit.
