Kaieteur Sports – The Guyana Golf Association held its revised AGM as guided by the rules of the Guyana Olympic Association on Tuesday July 25th at the Scout Association Ground. After opening prayers by Bishop Guy Griffith, Executive Vice President Vic Oditt welcomed the members, all of whom were present in person and virtually.
There was reading of and adoption of minutes from the June 28th meeting, after which the President presented the state of the association address. This was followed by the Treasurer’s Report which was unanimously adopted.
With no motions to address, the election of office bearers for Period 2023-2024 was called as the next business. Mayo Robertson Esq., of the Robertson Law Firm was nominated and appointed to serve as the Returning Officer.
Having established that a quorum was met with all members present and having duly been notified as per the by-laws of the Association, the RO called for nominations for the various posts and carefully followed procedures to declare the outcomes.

Aleem Hussain was unanimously elected as President; Vikram Oditt was unanimously elected as Executive Vice President; Dallas Thomas was unanimously elected as Vice President; Philip Haynes was unanimously elected as Vice President; Al Junior Wilson was unanimously elected as Secretary; Michelle Codrington was unanimously elected as Treasurer; Bishop Guy Griffith was unanimously elected as Asst. Sec/Treasurer.
The following Board advisors and key Committee members were then appointed by the Board:

Mayo Robertson- Legal Advisor; Kenny Attai- Technical Advisor; Cesar Guiterrez- Technical Advisor and Monnaf Arjune to serve as Public Relations Officer. Kevon Jawahir and Keisha McCollin were appointed as Special Committee members to serve for the 2023-2024 term.
Member clubs represented: Westside Golf & Country Club- in person by Monnaf Arjune and virtually by Michelle Codrington; East Coast Golf Club- in person by Al Junior Wilson; Nexgen Golf Academy- in person by Philip Haynes and virtually by Dallas Thomas; Ros-Nol Golf Club- virtually by Kevon Jawahir; and West Coast Golf Club- virtually by Keisha McCollin.
With no other business at hand, the new board was installed to continue serving the nation’s interest in development of the sport.
