Kaieteur News – The Ministry of Home Affairs will soon be reconstructing the Officer’s Mess at the Mazaruni Prison at an estimated cost of $63,355,884.
This was revealed during the recent opening of tenders, where 14 contractors have placed bids for the project. The Ministry is also preparing to construct a reception building at the Lusignan Prison at an estimated cost of $472,829,149.
This year some $5.5 billion was earmarked for the Guyana Prison Service, of which some $2 billion was set aside to carry out works at the Lusignan, Mazaruni, and New Amsterdam Prisons.

Ministry of Agriculture
Construction of Research and Demonstration Plot to Support the Ministry of Agriculture Extension System at Christiansburg, Linden.
Supreme Court of Judicature
Consultancy Services: Supervision- Construction of an Annex, Suddie, Magistrates’ Court, Suddie.
Ministry of Home Affairs
Construction of Reception Building Lusignan Prison Region Four.

Reconstruction of Officers Mess, Mazaruni.
Reconstruction of Transport Workshop, Eve Leary.
Ministry of Legal Affairs
Construction of Two Offices at Commercial Registry.
Procurement of Security Services at Deeds Registry for a period of 12 Months.
