Essequibo hand Berbice 7 wicket defeat
GCB U13 Inter-county Round 2…
Kaieteur News – Essequibo wrapped up a commanding 7-wicket win over Berbice yesterday when the GCB U13 Inter-county tournament continued at Bourda.
The Berbice boys merely managed 111-6 in 39 overs, with little effort coming from their batters with just the pair of Nathaniel Ramsammy (17) and Tameshwar Deonandan (15), making strides.
Jatnel Nurse (1-7) and Bumesh Lall (1-6), were among two of 4 bowlers to pick up a wicket each, for the Essequibo bowlers.
In response to a lowish total, Essequibo, led by 27 from opener Justin Dowlin and 23 from Makayan Holmes, was enough to take their side to 112-5 in 27.1 overs.
Bowling for Berbice U13 was led by Richard Ramdheol who grabbed 3-7 but it proved futile as his team came up short in the end.
Action continues today at 10:00h, with Berbice battling Demerara at GCC Bourda Ground, while Wednesday’s opening round which was rescheduled, will bowl off on Saturday.
