Exercise Tradewinds 2023 ‘FRIES’ training a success
…seven countries, 90 troops participated
Kaieteur News – Exercise Tradewinds 2023 kicked off early Monday with the Fast Rope Insertion Extraction System (FRIES) exercise at Air Station London, Timehri, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
Members of the media were invited to witness the airborne operation which saw 90 persons from seven countries participating.
Some of the Special Forces from the various countries participating in the FRIES technique on Monday, as part of the Tradewinds Exercise 2023.
Kaieteur News understands that the fast rope insertion technique is used in cases where a helicopter is unable to land. Troops use thick, heavy ropes to quickly slide from the aircraft to the land.
