Kaieteur News – It look as if de rainy season done. De place hot dese days and de weatherman seh El Nino coming.
But in Guyana, de weather is as unpredictable as a lottery draw. Yuh never know with de weather in Guyana. Yuh could be in fuh a long dry season and then something happen and is flood.
Dem boys expecting some serious storm clouds. Yuh see is 2 weeks in a row Mr. Thursday nah hold he press conference. Tings nah regular. Something wrong and rain gan come.
On top of dat, Prezzie held a press conference. De opening statement was longer than de question and answer period. Dem boys browsing de Guinness Book of World Records fuh see if was de longest opening statement in de history of press conferences.
But dem boys know that Mr. Thursday don’t like playing second fiddle to his juniors. And he gan find a way fuh better dat. But de man from Kangress Place nah giving he no reason fuh throw another extended tantrum. So prepare fuh de worse if Mr. Thursday is a no-show dis week. Guyana might be in fuh terrible weather.
Fuh de time being, dem farmers mekkin’ de most of de weather. It remind dem boys of de story of de pilot who after take-off began to make an announcement: “Ladies and gentlemen, we have excellent weather ahead. Shortly after a British Airways flight had reached its cruising altitude, the captain o, sit back, relax, and… OH…MY GOD!”
Silence followed complete silence!
Some moments later, the captain came back on the intercom.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m sorry if I scared you. While I was talking to you, a flight attendant accidentally spilled coffee on my lap. You should see the front of my pants!”
From the back of the plane, a passenger yelled, ” You should see the back of mine!”
