Dem Boys Seh…
Kaieteur News – Bai, yuh wouldn’t believe wah me eyes been witness yesterday pun de East Coast Demerara Public Road. Dem boys bin see wah convoy of motorcyclists passin’ like dem deh pun some kinda victory lap. But leh meh tell yuh, dis lap had nuttin’ to do wid victory and everythin’ to do wid madness.
Dem motorcyclists, like dem feelin’ dem is big-time riders, bin ridin’ bare-headed, no safety helmets in sight. Now, we all know dat dis ain’t no joke ting. It’s de law, plain an’ simple. But dese fellas bin flauntin’ dat law like it was some kinda fashion statement. Dem boys bin left shakin’ deh head in disbelief, bai.
But wait, de madness nah stop deh. Every blessed day, yuh got dem fellas ridin’ big bikes past de police like dem deh pon some kinda high-speed parade. Dem speedin’ by, helmet-less, like dem deh above de law. Wha kinda confidence dem fellas got, bai? Dem actin’ like dem got some kinda special powers or immunity or somethin’.
But de real joke in all dis, yuh know, is dat de authorities wantin’ to license dem electric bike riders. Yuh hear dat right, bai. Dem frettin’ over de silent bicycles while dem helmet-defying rebels runnin’ wild.
Dem helmet-less rebels gettin’ a free pass while de electric bike riders facin’ de wrath of de law. It’s like watchin’ a comedy show, bai, but dis ain’t no laffin’ matter.
Talk half. Leff half!
