GFF/NAMILCO U-17 Football Competition Berbice…
Kaieteur Sports – Play in the ongoing GFF/National Milling Company (NAMILCO) U17 Football Competition continued over the weekend with in the Berbice leg at the Scot’s Church Ground, Princess Elizabeth Road, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
Two of the three matches were played with the third ending in a walk over.
In the matches played Rosignol United of West Bank Berbice made light work of Corriverton Links with a 4-1 win. Scoring for Rosignol were Tyrone Delph, Quincy Fraser, Luke Langevine and Winton Hartman. Corriverton consolation goal was scored by Micah Gordon.
An evenly matched encounter was played out between two New Amsterdam teams Cougars Football Club and New Amsterdam United with the game finishing in a 3-3 stalemate. The game was a see-saw affair with Cougars taking a 2-0 lead, however, NA Untied bounced back to take the lead 3-2.
With tension high, Cougars was able to slot in the equalizer with a few minutes remaining to tie the game, 3-3.
Scoring for NA United were Hakeem Hosannah with a double and Kymani Spellen, who booted home the third. Cougars’ marksmen were David Fraser, Tyrese Tim and Sayeed King.
The third scheduled match between Ithaca of West Bank Berbice and Hopetown Rangers of West Coast Berbice was not played as the former gained a walkover. (Samuel Whyte)
