Dear Editor,
A point of grave concern is that the government is blatantly taking the people of Region One and Guyana for fools. After years of waiting, the new ferry has arrived and now the minister is not saying when the ferry will operate but saying contract for wharfs will be issued. So the government is waiting when it needs to go toilet to build one. Years we were waiting on this ferry didn’t we know new wharves are needed. So why they didn’t budget last year so by now when the ferry arrives the wharfs will be ready. So the ferry will be parked while passengers continue to suffer the long 16 to 20 hours journey on the filthy smelling vessels. Hope the new vessel is not vandalised before it starts operating. Let the minister and government come clean and say okay by December or next year June when wharfs are built the boat will operate not say we have a game changer when it can’t operate that’s simply dreaming.
Regards,
Concerned Region One Resident
