Dear Editor,
The Linden Mayor and Town Council is hereby put on notice that there will not be any exclusive event on any given night of LTW 2023. Town Week belongs to all Lindeners and we must ensure that residents are allowed to hold multiple events and activities throughout the one week.
It has been brought to my attention that the PPP surrogates at Linden are given exclusive rights to hold the popular All-Black event on one night of LTW. The Town Council has decided that no other activity will be held on that day. This comes against the backdrop of Jagdeo’s idealistic dream of the PPP taking over Linden as its stronghold at June’s Local Government Elections.
I have nothing personal against the promoters of the All-Black. My concern is about our local politics. Jagdeo, at his press conference today, admitted Linden has been a PNC stronghold since Independence. It will remain that way. The Mayor and Town Council is now informed that there will be an All-Black 2 on that same night and Buju Banton will be there. No one promoter should have the monopoly to hold one event on a night of LTW.
The PPP tried to hijack Mash at Linden to show they are making inroads in that town. They failed miserably. They will fail again. Let the PPP send their police to stop All Black 2. The revolution against oppression is brewing.
Sincerely yours,
Norman Browne
