Dear Editor,
Dear land of Guyana of rivers and plains
How long will you sit not voicing complaints
Our leaders continue to deceive us
As they plot and scheme nefarious
With foreigners that are notorious
For robbing the naive with intent pernicious
It’s no good being silent, they’ll just think you agree.
With whatever they do – be it one or two or three
So stand up and be counted to make them understand
No longer will we tolerate their dealings underhand
I’m tired of leaders whose purpose we see
To enrich themselves, friends, and family
While siding with the enemy to rob us daily
Of our God given riches from the Almighty.
The time will come when everyone must give
An account of the shellfish way he has lived
For God will require it, if not now, then in the end
So stand up and be counted, if you are His friend.
(Abraham was called God’s friend Isaiah 41:8)
Regards,
Gloria Loo
