– Redeemer put 10 past Ann’s Grove

Kaieteur News – Just one playing date remains before the crowning of the ninth COURTS Pee Wee Under-11 Football Champion. A rain-hit Ministry of Education Ground was the venue where the semifinals unfolded on Saturday afternoon, under overcast conditions.

North Georgetown went ahead when Nathaniel Peters scored a screamer in the first half against Enterprise.

After the semi-final bouts, St. Pius and Enterprise emerged victorious to enter the finals, which will be contested on Saturday, November 19, at the same venue.

The first semi-final showdown saw St. Pius defeat Marian Academy, 5 – 0, while Enterprise recorded a come from behind victory against North Georgetown, that ended 2 – 1.

St. Pius were led by the skillful Aaron Vasconcellos, who produced a hat-trick with goals in the 20^th, 36^th and 39^th minutes while his teammate, Octain Moore, contributed a solid brace to make it a comfortable victory.

In the other semi, North Georgetown assumed the lead of the encounter when Nathaniel Peters opened scoring in the 13^th minute. However, North suffered a setback when an own goal from Donte Thornhill equalized the match in the 28^th minute.

With a few minutes left to tussle in the battle, Jashan Haynes (40’) found the back of the net to propel his side into the finals.

Earlier, Craig got past Tucville, 4 – 0, as doubles from Maurice Fields (6’, 24’) and Kevin Dejounge (14’, 19’) was enough to secure the victory. The match that was billed to be run simultaneously with Craig versus Tucville, was won by Smith’s Memorial via walkover, against Mocha.

Timehri then recorded a 3 – 0 win over COLAACO as Nyron Barrow led with goals in the 17^th and 20^th minutes, following the opening goal which was scored by teammate, Quinton Taylor (10’).

Dem Amstel squeezed past Winfer Gardens in a match that ended 2 – 1. Winfer Gardens drew first blood compliments of Andre Robertson (32’) but a goal each from Malachi Mohammad (35’) and Jaquan Smith (40’) over powered the opposition’s efforts.

West Ruimveldt triumphed 2 – 0 over Soesdyke as Troy Lindey’s double went unanswered. Lindey’s goals were scored in the 22^nd and 25^th minutes.

Redeemer won a goal-filled battle against Ann’s Grove, 10 – 0. Hat-tricks from Jonathan Ollivierre (23’, 29’, 40’) and David DeCosta (3’, 30’, 34’), a brace from Adiel Hamilton (8’, 10’) and a goal each from Jareal Richards (41’) and Shivraj Persaud (44’) completed a commanding win.
