Dear Editor
The perceived triviality being exhibited by the authorities of a known scammer and fraudster, masquerading as a medical doctor, (KN September 6), is of grave concern. From the media report, the individual has a long and known history of nefarious activities and is a known character to law enforcement, but it seems was never charged and placed before the courts.
Now the Council is boasting about ‘proactive move’ and a notice as a ‘public service gesture’, even after there were reports that the fake medical doctor was ‘seen attending to patients at medical outreaches’. Imagine that and no action taken against her, even after her medical background was ascertained.
It seems only when a formal report is lodged can action be taken. Never mind lives are at stake. There has to be something seriously wrong with this modus operandi. The reactive mode of authorities in this matter is really something to behold.
Regards
Shamshun Mohamed
