Kaieteur News – Omar Khan, 45, of Better Hope, East Coast Demerara on Sunday died after he lost control of his car and ploughed into a trench.
The accident occurred on the Melsha Access Road, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara around 14:50hours. According to the police, Khan was proceeding south along the Melsha Road in motorcar PKK 4289 at a fast rate of speed when he lost control, causing the car to flip and coming to a stop in a nearby trench. Khan was pulled out of the motorcar by public-spirited persons in an unconscious state.
When Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) arrived on the scene, they pronounced Khan dead. His body was then escorted to the mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Khan was charged back in 2017, for the death of his teen son, Azeez Khan. At the time, the father claimed that the youth had fallen from a ladder at his place of work. However, a post-mortem examination found that the young man died from hemorrhage, due to blunt trauma to the head.
