Dear Editor
Shouldn’t the ‘romantic bandit’ be charged for pretending to be a man. Isn’t that sexual impersonation, a criminal offence?
While the matter has been dropped as full repayment was made, still a crime was knowingly committed and at the very minimum the ‘bandit’ should have been made to do some form of community service as a way of seeking pardon from society.
A strong message needs to be sent to persons bent on executing this type of crime. As for the victim, as the saying goes, a fool and her money are soon parted.
Regards
Shamshun Mohamed
