Kaieteur News – The Ministry of Health on Saturday revealed that three more persons, two men and a woman who contracted the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease, have died.
The latest fatalities are that of a 79-year-old woman from Region Two, a 55-year-old man from Region Seven and a 70-year-old man from Region Four, who died over a two-day period (July 7-8) while receiving treatment at a medical facility.
As a result, the country’s COVID-19 death toll has moved to 1,262.
Meanwhile, in its COVID-19 dashboard the Ministry recorded 142 new infections, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 68,162. The dashboard also shows that four patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 35 persons are in institutional isolation, 731 are in home isolation and two are in institutional quarantine.
To date, a total of 66,130 persons have recovered from the virus.
