Kaieteur News – Fifty-four-year-old Gopaul Tiwari, who was wanted by the Guyana Police Force (GPF) since last year, was on Monday captured at a Guest House at Eccles, East Bank Demerara.
A wanted bulletin was issued for Gopaul since December 17, 2021. Tiwari was wanted for several counts of obtaining by false pretense.
According to a police report, acting on information received, a team of police ranks headed by an Assistant Superintendent went to the Guest House where Gopaul Tiwari called Omkar/Big Mike/Chris Persaud/Mike Persaud of Lot 101 Dora, Demerara River and Lot 73 Craig Village, East Bank Demerara was arrested.
Tiwari was told of the offence, cautioned and taken to the Providence Police Station and then escorted to the La Parfaite Harmonie Police Station where he was placed in custody.
