Dear Editor
It is with a broken heart, tears in my eyes unable to control my emotions that I write this email. Mr Editor I have built a house at Zeeburg West Coast Demerara, a new housing scheme developed by government.
However, my family and I are unable to move in our new home due to the fact that the electrical department which falls under the direction of the Ministry of Public Works have failed and refused to inspect my house. My electrician has submitted documents to the department four weeks ago. I visited the department and I was told to wait because of the backlog of applications. While I am waiting for the certification my house is being vandalized by persons or person unknown.
I cannot understand why a government department would sabotage the government housing drive or is it a case where a house owner has to pay large sums of money before visits are made. I therefore appeal for help and for government to ensure that once an application is received by the department visits must be made within seven working days and electrical inspectors are posted in Regions one to ten without delay.
My contact number is 614 7154
Sincerely
Dennis Clarke
