Man stabbed to death, attacker hospitalised

Kaieteur News – A man was on Friday, May 6, 2022, stabbed to death during an argument reportedly over a female. The incident occurred at Maycock Street, Rose Hall Town, Berbice.
Reports are that the victim, only identified as ‘Fineman’, was stabbed by a 41-year-old unemployed man, identified as Anthony Cameron called ‘Anto’ of Rose Hall Town.
Based on information reaching this publication, the victim was imbibing with others at Maycock Street when an argument erupted. Cameron, who reportedly had knife, used the weapon to stab the victim to the chest. He then grabbed his bicycle and said he was going to make a report at the Rose Hall Town Police Outpost.
In a matter of minutes, a police patrol arrived and rushed the victim to the Port Mourant Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Shortly after, Cameron showed up with his sister and police noticed that he had wounds to his neck and abdomen. Sources disclosed that when Cameron left for the police station he was not injured.
He was then admitted to the institution and it was there that he told police that ‘Fineman’ inflicted the wounds. Cameron was subsequently transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he remains under police guard.
Investigations are ongoing in an effort to properly identify the victim in the incident.
