Dear Editor,
With the guidance of our ancestors, we arrived
In solidarity we stood upon these shores
As one people with a common root
As one people united in our shared heritage
Nothing divided us, no partition of our home
With the guidance of our ancestors, we overcame
Together we united and succeeded
In solidarity we rise once again
As one people whose homeland is shared
Mother India, your children are here
In solidarity we excel as a people
Holding fast to your teachings
Holding fast to our culture
Holding fast to our new shores
With the guidance of our ancestors
We the descendants of your soil
Mother India we will forever rise to your call
Guyana is where we have rested
It is where we have grown
From your womb to our new home
Dedicated to my Indian Guyanese Brothers and Sisters.
Happy Arrival Day!
Best wishes,
Mr. Jamil Changlee
Chairman

Hard Truths by GHK Lall (Kaieteur News) – Guyanese should get first prize for their tolerance for bull, their bottomless reservoir of docility. And humour.
