Dear Editor,
It is time for our leaders (both past and present) to stop pussy-footing around ExxonMobil executives and stand up for what is just and fair for the citizens of this country – Guyana.
The PNC/R+AFC coalition – whether knowingly or unknowingly – sold this country’s giant oil resources for pennies while the Oil Companies are smiling all the way to their banks. Now the present administration in government is trying to bamboozle us (it’s citizens) by siding with ExxonMobil and the other oil companies that refuse to pay their fair share of taxes in Guyana, saying it is a private law meaning it is in contract between Guyana and ExxonMobil.
Now the question on everyone’s mind is why is the PPP/C administration so bent on fighting its citizens through the efforts of Mr. Glenn Lall who is trying to right the wrongs done to Guyanese. Is there some kind of surreptitious reason that prevents the PPP/C Government from correcting this gross mistake by the previous administration or are they also guilty of falling for kickbacks from the wily?
Sincerely,
Gloria Holder
