Kaieteur News – E-Networks Inc. – Guyana’s only locally-owned telecommunications provider – yesterday presented the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Human Services and Social Protection, Ms Shannielle Hoosein-Outar, with a donation of $500,000 towards its ‘Wish Upon a Star’ Initiative.

E-Networks Marketing Coordinator, Ashley John hands over the donation to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Human Services and Social Protection, Ms Shannielle Hoosein-Outar
This initiative, conceptualised by Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Dr Vindhya Persaud, aims to fulfil the dreams of children with special needs, between the ages of four and fifteen, during the festive season. These included those living with disabilities, children who would have experienced some traumatic or psychological incident in their life, lost their parents and do not have guardians or caregivers, and never had the opportunity to enjoy that one gift that could make them incredibly happy.
E-Networks Marketing Coordinator, Ashley John, lauded the Ministry for its worthwhile project during the season of giving. She commented, “We know a child’s circumstances or that of their parent/guardian might hinder them from enjoying Christmas, so we think it’s a brilliant initiative by the Ministry to bring joy during this festive season. As a local company, we are always thrilled to show our support to improve the lives of Guyanese, especially the youth in need.”
Accepting on behalf of the Ministry, PS Hoosein-Outar said, “This donation will go a long way in making the Christmas wishes of less fortunate children come true.”
In crafting the initiative, Dr. Persaud had especially considered how children generally look forward to Christmas time and how granting their special wish can profoundly impact them.
E-Networks said it is exceedingly pleased to participate in this project and extended its very best wishes for a joyous season to all those involved in this worthy venture.
