WCB man charged with murder

Kaieteur News – Just two days after he was captured by authorities in Region Six, Shane Samaroo called ‘Tanta Boy’, a 20-year-old Labourer of Rosignol Village, West Coast Berbice was on Wednesday charged with the capitol offence of murder.

Samaroo appeared at the Fort Wellington Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Peter Hugh. He was charged with committing murder contrary to common low, on Faroze Khan of Rosignol Village, WCB.

The matter was transferred to the Blairmont Magistrate’s Court and he is set to return on December 20, 2021. Police on the13th December 2021, while acting on a tip off, ventured into the Mibicuri, Black Bush Polder backlands and arrested Samaroo and his mother Irene Seecharran called ‘Pinkey’, 36, a housewife of Mibicuri, BBP.

She was arrested for harbouring Samaroo whom police had issued a wanted bulletin for in August, after he stabbed Khan to death and escaped. It was previously reported that Khan was beaten and stabbed to death on August 19, 2021, at Bennet Dam, Rosignol, WCB by Samaroo.
