Supports Minister Frank Anthony’s Vaccination Drive
Kaieteur News – Due to the epidemiological situation in Guyana, the Covid-19 TaskForce Secretariat, on 21st September, 2021, has instructed the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) to suspend all cricket activities until further notice.
In consequence, the GCB by way of this press release wishes to inform all affiliated cricket Boards, associations, clubs and other related organisations to immediately comply with the instruction given.
This important development will of course cause the planned cricket tournaments, coaching, training, seminars, school cricket including ‘under 13’, youth cricket, club cricket, inter association, inter county, women’s cricket, competitions and in general the cricket developmental plans of the GCB to be pushed back indefinitely. As a result, the planned extended period of preparation will be curtailed. The GCB is formally committed to act responsibly in this pandemic crisis and to be fully compliant with official instruction.
Once cricket activities resume (post ‘Covid 19’), the short, medium and long term plans would be reassessed in order to establish how best they can be effectively implemented.
President of the GCB, Mr Bissoondyal Singh, has expressed his personal concerns with the adverse effects this deadly pandemic is having on players, officials and indeed the public at large. The President and the Executive Committee of the GCB therefore fully support the call of the Minister of Health, the Honourable Dr. FrankAnthony in his call for all eligible Guyanese to be fully vaccinated and to observe the ‘Covid 19’ guidelines since this will reduce positive cases of ‘Covid 19’ and subsequent deaths.
The GCB urges all Guyanese to be vaccinated and to stay safe.

(Kaieteur News) – There is no question that Guyanese would have noticed the brooch worn by Delcy Rodríguez during her recent visits to Grenada and Barbados.
