DVA A Division tourney…
Kaieteur News – The Demerara Volleyball Association’s Georgetown ‘A’ Division tournament continued on Friday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) with Young Achievers Volleyball Club picking up three points against Castrol Strikers during the second night of play.
Young Achievers won the first two games 25-16 and 25-20 before Castrol Strikers pulled back the third game with a commanding 25-15 before Achievers closed out the match with a 25-19 win during game four.
Juan Valasquez top scored for the winners with 15 points with support from Klondyke Rodney with 10 points and Geno Carrol with 10 points as well.
Achievers are now level on points with Eagles Volleyball Club that registered the first win of the tourney on Wednesday against the winless Castrol.
The next game in the DVA A league is scheduled for Tuesday with Young Achievers facing off against Eagles Volleyball Club in a top of the table match that is scheduled to spike down at 19:30hrs.
In addition, the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) is hosting the third leg of the National Teams Exhibition Series today in the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The National U23 squad holds a commanding 2 game lead over the Senior National Team after defeating them in the first two games by three sets to one. The Senior National Team will be hoping to bounce back and keep the series alive by winning today’s game, while the National U23 Squad will hope to close out the series and claim victory over the Senior squad.
The game begins at 13:30hrs and will be live streamed on the Guyana Volleyball Federation’s Facebook page.
