Jul 16, 2021 Letters
Dear Editor,
Mr. Aubrey C. Norton’s letter in KN of July 15, 2021 left me flabbergasted beyond belief. Where was Mr. Norton in 2015 when the APNU+AFC coalition Government came to power and immediately reduced the cash grant given to parents of school age children from $10,000 (the amount allotted at the time) to $2,000 while increasing their salaries by 50 percent? A concerned parent said to me two thousand Guyana dollars can’t even buy her child decent underwear.
Instead of condemning the PPP government for bringing back the “Because We Care” initiative, Mr. Norton should read Erin Northe’s letter adjacent to his to get the true facts and stop being a puppet to the party of his choice.
Sincerely,
Gloria Holder
